Nutrition During Pregnancy

It is normal to have cravings during pregnancy.  Usually having one serving of a food is better than trying to avoid it all together.

If you crave things that are not food, like ice, laundry starch, dirt, powdered laundry detergent and other non-food items you have a condition called pica.  This is more common in women who have an iron deficiency and you need to consult your health care provider as soon as possible. (1)(2)
